While Czech Dreams 2011 are in the full swing and Czech artists travel across Europe in the same time the talks and discussions about the image of the 4th year of the international project Czech Dreams which will be held in 2014 are in motion. Year 2014 is being considered the Year of Czech Music ( in this year the anniversaries of the foremost Czech music personalities such as B. Smetana, A. Dvořák, L. Janáček, V. Novák, B. Martinů, J. Suk a.o. rarely grouped together) and numerous outstanding cultural events which affect the music life both in Czech Republic and abroad will take place. Czech Dreams 2014 apply for the one of the most highlighted events and therefore the representatives of several prestigious European festivals such as International Music Festival Bergen (Norway), Festival Internacional de Musica y Danza de Granada ( Spain) and International Music Festival of 13 Towns – Concentus Moraviae ( Czech Republic) are discussing the artistic profile of the project and ways of mutual collaboration.

Czech Dreams 2011 were successfully kicked- off

On Saturday July 2nd the festival opening concert of international part of the 3rd
year of the international cultural project Czech Dreams 2011 was held in German
Adorf. Minister of culture of Czech Republic Jiří Besser cut imaginary starting tape and
in his speech emphasized the scope and exceptionality of the project as well as its
enormous significance for deepening of the contacts between the regions and
collaboration in Europe.

St, Michaelis Church in Adorf was crowded up to the last seat and the audience
highly acknowledged the superb performance of all protagonists – Brno Philharmonic,
Czech Philharmonic Choir Brno, vocal soloists Hana Škarková, Adriana Kohútková,
Richard Novák and conductor Tomáš Netopil.

Many esteemed guests from different European countries, the representatives of press
and medias both from Czech Republic and Germany took part at the festival concert
which was held in collaboration with the Festival Mitte-Europa. The concert was also
recorded by German radio station Kultur, the broadcast come to air on Tuesday July 5
at 8:00 pm or will be available on You Tube.

The opening festival concert will include three spiritual pieces in an uncommon combination. Franz Schubert’s wonderful aria, Salve regina, will be followed by Zdeněk Fibich’s seldom performed, graceful Missa brevis and by Antonín Dvořák’s famous Te Deum.
