Czech Dreams 2024
Üdvözöljük Veszprémben!
On 13 and 14 November, Czech Dreams stopped in Veszprém, Hungary, which is not only a member of the prestigious UNESCO Creative Cities Network in the field of music, but also a twin town of the North Bohemian town of Most. Our trip to the charming "town of queens", located near the largest Central European lake Balaton, brought great musical experiences as well as inspiring meetings and the foundations for new cooperation.
We were introduced to Veszprém's musical activities by Anna Isola, an experienced consultant in the field of international cultural strategy and projects, and member of the expert pool for the Panel of the European Capital of Culture action, which last year was Veszprém. We met with the management of the Antal Csermák Music School, discussed the possibilities of cooperation and started planning joint projects aimed especially at supporting talented pupils of art schools. The highlight of the visit of the Czech Dreams to Veszprém was the performance of the Gankino Quintet, a young dynamic group of students from the Pardubice Conservatoire, who gave a literally thrilling musical performance in the cult cultural café Papírkutya (Paper Dog). The unique space full of energy and stories became an ideal stage for their original musical performance consisting of their own arrangements and original works, drawing inspiration from ethnic music from different parts of the world combined with elements of jazz and improvisation.
We thank Veszprém for their warm welcome and look forward to working on our joint plans!
