The November ambassadors of the Czech Dreams are Duo Jedlinský-Fischer, Gankino Quintet and Duo Ardašev, a pair of concerts will feature the patron of the Czech Dreams Magdalena Kožená in a swing programme with Ondřej Havelka's Melody Makers.
The autumn tour starts today in Veszprém, Hungary. The Gankino Quintet, a dynamic ensemble of Pardubice Conservatory students combining ethnic melodies with jazz elements in an original line-up of violin, clarinet, accordion, guitar and double bass, will perform at the famous Papírkutya cultural café there.
On Saturday, the renowned Duo Jedlinský-Fischer will visit the Polish town of Leszno, where they will play the programme "Blood and Honey" in the hall of the Stanisław Grochowiak Library. Violin, accordion and vocals of both virtuosos tell musical stories processed by the duo members and influenced by the idiom of Eastern European music. The concert will be preceded by the opening of an exhibition of Bohuslav Reynek's works, poetically titled "The Lord of Mood"; selected prints by Reynek and Reynek´s son´s Daniel photographs of his father at work have been lent by the Gallery of Fine Arts in Havlíčkův Brod. The concert and the opening are part of the programme of the visit of the delegation of the Czech partner town, which since last year has been Žďár nad Sázavou. The Jedlinský-Fischer duo with "Blood and Honey" will then continue to the eastern Netherlands; on Wednesday 20 November they will perform at the important cultural centre Brebl in Nijmegen.
