CZECH DREAMS 2011
The 3rd year of the international cultural project dedicated to the promotion of Czech music
28. 5. - 3. 12. 2011
The third edition of the European culture project Czech Dreams aims at a presentation of leading Czech artists with mainly Czech classical repertoire through concerts abroad, and at a support of collaborations of Czech musicians and their European colleagues. No less important part of the project is a support of the cultural cooperation among Czech towns and their European partner municipalities, an establishing or an empowerment of relations among Czech cultural and educational institutions and their European colleagues and an enrichment of partnership activities within the European Union. The in Europe unique system of Czech basic music schools will also be introduced during the Czech Dreams.
The Czech Dreams project ties dramaturgically in the Concentus Moraviae International Music Festival of 13 Towns which 16th edition with the subtitle „Czech Dreams“ will be held in 17 Moravian towns from 28 May till 25 June 2011. The international part of the project will be realized by Czech musicians performing at the Concentus Moraviae Festival who will in Europe present the repertoire prepared for the local event. The Czech music will be the most frequent in programs with the theme “Czech Dreams 2011 - In Search of a Lost Time: Imprints and Recollections” conceived by the programming director Aleš Březina. Some of important anniversaries will be taken into account and interesting topical music projects will be introduced on this occasion.
The basis of contacts to European towns will be drawn on European partnerships of the Moravian festival towns. In the second half of the year 2011 more than 100 concerts in 19 European countries will be organized. Concerts of the Czech Dreams will be held in about 70 towns and villages (outside metropolises of the host countries). One half of the concerts will be realized in partner towns and regions, the other half will be part of selected European festivals and concerts series.
